adidas Y-3 F50 Tunit 2026: The Beast Pack Returns

The adidas Y-3 F50 Tunit 2026 carries twenty years of football-design history behind it. Long before collaborations between luxury fashion and football became routine, Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 label used the F50 Tunit as an experimental canvas. The original 2006 “Beast Pack” became one of the most collectible releases of its era—and in 2026, adidas and Y-3 brought that world back.

The original Beast Pack was ahead of its time

Released around the 2006 World Cup, the original Y-3 project used Taishi Hayashi’s animal artwork across four extraordinary F50 Tunit designs: dragon, tiger, eagle and wolf. Each creature represented a different quality such as speed, aggression, hunger or vision. The boots were produced in extremely limited numbers and became part of collector folklore long before football-fashion crossovers reached today’s scale.

Twenty years later, Y-3 returns to the F50

The revival first appeared around Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2026 presentation in Paris, where the concept was reinterpreted for lifestyle footwear. adidas then took the story back onto the pitch with a performance version of the F50 Tunit, timed for another World Cup year exactly two decades after the original.

Archive design, modern execution

The current model keeps the unmistakable Y-3 attitude while using contemporary adidas football construction. The Silver Metallic, black and Grey Three palette gives the boot a cleaner, more technical identity than many of the original animal-heavy editions, but the significance lies in the silhouette and the collaboration itself: a cult F50 concept returning in an era that finally understands how closely football, fashion and collecting can overlap.

The F50 name first arrived in 2004 and became one of adidas’ defining speed franchises. Tunit followed with its modular idea in the mid-2000s, creating a silhouette permanently linked with that period. Bringing it back through Y-3 is therefore not just nostalgia—it reconnects one of football’s earliest high-fashion collaborations with the culture it helped predict.
