AC Milan’s 2026/27 third jersey takes the club’s name literally: Rossoneri—red and black—but pushes those colors into a more futuristic register. PUMA begins with a deep black base, adds fluorescent red details and introduces UV-reactive elements designed to reveal another side of the shirt as the light changes.
“Rossoneri in a new light”
The concept behind the design is exactly that: seeing Milan’s traditional identity differently. Black remains dominant, preserving the seriousness associated with the club’s famous palette, while fluorescent red gives the crest, branding and graphic details a far more intense appearance.
The UV-reactive treatment strengthens the concept. Selected details are engineered to change character depending on how the jersey is lit, making light itself part of the design. Instead of replacing Milan’s heritage colors, PUMA changes the way those familiar colors behave.
Why the design still feels unmistakably AC Milan
AC Milan has one of world football’s strongest visual identities. Red and black have defined the club since its foundation, so a third jersey does not need to introduce an unrelated color story to feel experimental. The 2026/27 design works by increasing contrast and intensity while keeping Rossonero at the center.
That approach also reflects a broader shift in modern football kits, where third jerseys increasingly need to work both under stadium lights and as lifestyle pieces away from the pitch. A predominantly black shirt with fluorescent red and reactive details naturally sits between those two environments.
From Milan to Jakarta
The launch reflects how global the Rossoneri community has become. AC Milan and PUMA unveiled the jersey on August 7, 2026 during the club’s preseason stop in Indonesia, home to one of Milan’s largest international fan communities. A public launch event at Sparks, Senayan Park in Jakarta included activities, a PUMA pop-up and a player meet-and-greet.
The shirt was scheduled for its on-pitch debut on August 8 against Chelsea at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, turning the Indonesia tour into part of the product story rather than simply a backdrop for campaign images.
Authentic and replica technology
The authentic jersey uses PUMA ULTRAWEAVE, together with dryCELL and ThermoAdapt technologies for moisture management and body-temperature regulation. The replica version uses RE:FIBRE construction with 95% recycled polyester sourced from textile waste.
“Rossoneri in a new light” is therefore more than a launch line. It describes exactly what the 2026/27 AC Milan third jersey does: it keeps the club’s most recognizable colors intact, then changes their intensity, finish and reaction to light so red and black can feel new again.
