The PUMA Level Up Pack takes a very different route from the usual football inspirations of trophies, national colors and club heritage. Released for the start of the 2026/27 season, the limited collection looks instead to classic 8-bit video games and retro arcade culture, turning FUTURE 9 and ULTRA NITRO 7 into wearable gaming graphics.
FUTURE 9 becomes the creative-player arcade screen
The FUTURE 9 uses a bright blue base covered in pixel graphics. Health bars, heart meters, controller-style symbols and multicolored 8-bit details are scattered across the upper, while even the PUMA branding is reworked in a pixelated style. It is an unusually playful treatment, but it fits FUTURE’s identity as the silo aimed at unpredictable and creative players.
ULTRA NITRO 7 gets the high-speed version
ULTRA NITRO 7 shifts to an electric yellow foundation with multicolored arcade graphics running across the side and outsole. Because ULTRA is the speed boot of the PUMA lineup, the brighter and more aggressive execution feels like the equivalent of a high-score screen: immediate, loud and impossible to miss.
A special edition rather than a standard team pack
Level Up is intentionally narrower than PUMA’s main seasonal collections. It centers on FUTURE 9 Ultimate and ULTRA NITRO 7 Ultimate, including a laceless ULTRA option, rather than trying to recolor every tier and every surface. That limited focus helps the concept feel more like a special-edition design project.
The pack also arrives at an interesting moment for ULTRA. NITRO 7 is a new generation for 2026/27, so Level Up gives the fresh speed platform an early personality outside the main Arrival colors. Together with FUTURE 9, it creates one of the most unusual football-meets-gaming releases of the year—an easy visual story to understand even before you notice the technical differences between the two boots.
